Bad loot - a response

We've all seen so many complains about bad loot, example:

"I've farmed Dominus for 3 days, 6 hours per day, with MF, and I got 0 Soul Takers, Voltaxic's ..."

How many rare items has the God of Desync dropped?
Are you telling me that none of the 1000+ rare items was worth more than 5 chaos?
If you do, then you should probably learn more about item value or it was an astronomic possibility that you got pure vendor trash, which just don't apply to all of you, sorry.

"220 pDPS dagger? What is this, not even 300 ---> vendor."

You people are focusing ONLY on the top tier uniques, ignoring everything else and marking it as a crap loot.

I've seen a guy drop an Aegis Aurora after few hours of Dominus farming and he still complained about the crap loot the day after, that is the cancer of everything.

Getting ST as a drop is like a lottery, and it should be like that.

If you play a lottery in RL, and after a month of playing you probably won't win, would you spread your nonsense about lottery also? Complaining to the xyz that you didn't win and that lottery sucks?

People who want to get rich with 1 item (and they probably won't), complain despite the tremendous odds of the possibility of not getting it.


Start looking for wealth in rare items, especially jewelry.

There are all those top tier uniques on sale, so they are dropping, just probably not to one who have a use from them, logically.


Loot is absolutely fine, the problem is you complainer, because you have no knowledge of the item worth.

I'd venture to guess that most people don't even know how to price "mid range" loot so everything that's not a guaranteed 10ex+ item goes to the vendor. Too much hassle.

Agree. I farmed Piety for a month with 131/400 and didn't get anything "better" than an Alpha's Howl. But did i complain? Nope, because there's absolutely no reason to complain. I still made around 600 chaos and 40 exalts from loot others won't even ID.

Edit: This also goes along very well with all these "Nothing sells at standard unless it's absolute top tier" crap. I mean, the last month has proven me otherwise very well. And i don't even play the trading game or whatever people call it, all i have is my little shop with some b/o's listed.

I think most people are comparing themselves to streamers who either RMT or get donations from fans.

e.g. Why do I not have a stash tab full of exalts?? That streamer does.

I, for one, do not pay attention to streamers. Yes, I trade, but I spend more time building characters and killing mobs in POE than I do trading, and I would like to think that my characters are pretty well off.

No, I do not plan my builds around 6L or FOTM unique items that cost tens of exalts to trade for.

"Ugh, this game sucks because I do not know how to build a character that does not require the most expensive items!"

However, if I did find a 6L or FOTM unique, maybe I WOULD plan a build around that item.

Because trading is too cumbersome and time consuming for most people so only the top-tier items are worth spending our valuable time on.

If there was a way that permitted me to evaluate more quickly whether the item was worth much, and then leave it for sale whilst I was at work, GREAT. But there isn't...

So, you want top tier unique but you don't have time for that?

Also applies to evaluation, you have time for farming at work and you don't have ~1 min to check if that item is something worth selling?


Sorry, but trading is not time consumable, it is if you choose to be it so.

I turn trade chat on for an average of 10 minutes a day.

I play maps, stash good rare items/uniques and put them to my shop, when a buyer jumps in, we do quick trade between map runs.

You people want 100 exalts, and you want it NOW. You're obviously doing it wrong.

Well I'm not so sure about standard... But if an item has:

- double/tri-resist
- Life mod
- %armor/es or eva mod
- flat armor/es/eva mod
- % phys dmg
- flat phys damage
- IAS%
- IIR/IIQ

- Sockets/links are all a bonus. not needed to sell the item, but if they are already 4l+, you can sell it for more

A combination of 3 of those, It's probably worth something. So as it relates to quick evaluation, it's about the time it takes me to pick up the item, ID it, and read.
